Obituary of Peter Thaddeus Jarmulowicz

Peter Thaddeus Jarmulowicz, 83, of Roanoke Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 2, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Stella Jarmulowicz of Chelsea, MA; and sister, Carol Sienkiewicz.

Peter is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Shirley; children, Linda Jarmulowicz (Brett Doty), Peter E. Jarmulowicz (ex-spouse, Ania Jarmulowicz), Lori Crete, and Debbie Bennett (Timm); and grandchildren, Mateusz, Stella, Callum, and Alexandra.

Peter spent his early years in Massachusetts, where he raised his family and was a middle school math teacher. He and his wife, Shirley, lived in Barre, Vermont; Vero Beach, Florida; and most recently in Roanoke, Virginia. He enjoyed travel, food, and conversation, and he made many friends along the way. Peter was known for his amiable personality and generosity of spirit.

Peter served in the US Army as a First Lieutenant and was honorably discharged. He will be buried at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Dublin Virginia. As a younger man, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, maple-sugaring, and was a self-taught handy-man. In Florida, he and Shirley were active in their community and were compassionate caretakers of those in need. Peter will be missed by his family and his community at Friendship North.

A service to celebrate Peter’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to American Heart Society, a cause that was close to Peter's heart.
